Physician (Chief Emergency Department)

The Chief of the Emergency Department section reports directly to the Chief of Medicine Service and operates equally in a clinical and administrative role. Typical Duties Include:
Management and administration of the Emergency Department (ED) clinical services and ensuring that quality, safety, and appropriateness of emergency care are continually monitored and evaluated and improved. Recruiting and retaining well qualified ED physicians, and recruiting and maintaining sufficient staff to provide night/weekend and holiday coverage 24/7/365. Serving as ED liaison with hospital administration, medical staff and local EMS agencies Supervise ED providers (physician and APPs) and ensure compliance of with VA and hospital rules and regulations . Work closely with ED staff who are aligned under other departments such as Nursing and administrative staff Participate in VISN 4 Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine leader group Ensure the operation of the ED is guided by well-established national guidelines and local policies and procedures. Work Schedule:
Typical tour of duty is expected to be 0800 - 1630 with intermittent shift work possible. Intermittent shifts that may be expected include 0700-1900, 0900-2100, 1900-0700 and 2100-0900. Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) may be authorized:
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. To participate in the program, you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA Policy 1021 and submit your application within four months of appointment. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Outstanding professional ability in the practice of medicine or a medical specialty; Ability to guide the development and implementation of programs within their respective domain. These programs would include, but are not limited to medical practice, professional standards, personnel issues, and quality and performance improvement. Reference:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
