Associate Product Manager
Position Objective
To support the category strategy by implementing tactics designed to meet the sales, profit, and new product targets. This marketing position interfaces with all business functions and requires strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
Specific Responsibilities
o Gather, analyze and report Lawn & Garden industry trends and competitive activities
o Track & report category sales performance by product and customer
o Sales Forecasting and communication with the sales and operations teams
o Initiate new product item set up documentation
o Provide marketing information as needed to optimize our internet presence
o Develop market data to support new products or categories
o Coordinate with sales analysts to report new product sales performance
o Communicate category changes to the sales team
o Assist in preparation of customer presentations and line reviews
Education/Experience
o Bachelors degree from an accredited 4 year university
o 3-5 years work experience in marketing or category management
o Lawn & Garden industry experience is a plus
o Prefer experience in product focused vs marketing focused industry. Typically a consumer durables background vs packaged goods.
Skills/Personal Characteristics
o Ability to perform complicated analysis like forecasting, trends and budgets
o Creative problem solver
o Working knowledge of common computer software programs like MS Office
o Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
o Industrious, self motivated and results driven
o Adaptable, team playerEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
